Decreased Supply And Increased Tourism May Mean More Good News For Naples, Florida Real Estate.

Posted on Thursday, July 26, 2012

More than a few local pals have noted more activity in Naples this summer. Traffic, although far less than season rates, seems a little heavier. Real estate sales are going along ok and we are fast approaching peak European tourist season. It feels like Naples is becoming more of a year round place which is good news for real estate and maybe local employment.
This perceived increase in activity comes on the heals of a strong tourist season. The Naples News reported two days ago “ The county in June drew 121,100 visitors to its hotels and other vacation rentals — up 4.6 percent from a year ago, according to a monthly report by Tampa-based Research Data Services Inc.” Maybe the tourists just stuck around a little longer!
We still see a relative short supply of real estate these days compared to prior years. We are hovering around the 7.2 months levels with more news on planned developments again. This coming season may see short supply ahead of future development combined with increasing tourism. Might be more good news for Naples real estate.
