Naples Florida Lifestyle: Fishing In The Keys

Posted on Saturday, March 10, 2012

Readers of our blog will have concluded by now I have a fishing problem. To me there is nothing like a day on the water with friends. It is as if I have been out there for a week – refreshed, ready to go – ah the good times on the water.
Many of our up north client do not realize just how close we are to the Florida Keys – 90-100 miles by boat to Key West and three hours by car to the middle keys. Many northerners travel further than that to their “up north” cabins and lakes. Very reachable these keys from your Naples real estate purchase.
So yesterday I headed to Islamorada to meet an old friend with my son and fish the day looking for those elusive Tarpon. We are little early in the season and none were found but the redfishing was pretty good.  The back country flats are something to behold.  Thirty miles from Islamorada to Flamingo (the southern tip of the Florida peninsula) and all the fish, flats channels and uninahbitated islands you could want.  Beautiful times on Florida’s southern flats – wow.

Remember Naples Florida is a lot more than real estate – it is a playground of outdoor, year round, fun. Come on down and have a look.
