Yesterday a client asked me “if we buy a house in Naples will it be a good investment?” My answer – who really knows? A better question might be should it be an investment at all?
Consider the fickle volumes in Naples real estate these past few months. It feels like this market wants to take off again – prices are increasing and supply is down. But where are the volumes? December volumes were solid at 607 properties sold in the all Naples area but January saw a lip to 536. A slip when we were moving right into season and the equity markets were accelerating. Hmmm … you would think folks would be feeling more confident. February though saw a nice rebound to 648 units.
And what about March? How are we doing. Bumping along at this pace we will be below February and the quarter to quarter results look like we are slowing.
So an investment? Consider a purchase of Naples real estate more like a wonderful place to live and vacation. A place to bask in the sun in those winter months and a place with wonderful outdoor activity and pretty cool restaurants.
